Sheet steel staking is a metalworking course of that includes using a punch and die to create a raised or embossed design on a sheet steel workpiece. This course of is commonly used to create ornamental or useful options on sheet steel elements, akin to dimples, ribs, or bosses.
Staking could be carried out manually or with using an influence press. When staking manually, a punch is used to strike the workpiece, whereas a die is used to help the workpiece and create the specified form. When utilizing an influence press, the punch and die are mounted within the press, and the workpiece is positioned between them. The press then applies strain to the workpiece, inflicting the punch to create the specified form within the workpiece.
